*This Skillet Brownie For Two is delicious, fun, and romantic! Top this chocolate concoction with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for the perfect decadent treat.*
I promised last week that I’d be here today with a super simple, chocolate dessert for two. Because what could possibly be more appropriate for Valentine’s Day??
But first, a sweet little story about the cute skillet you see here, which actually inspired me to develop this recipe. Growing up we had a couple of cast iron skillets of various sizes. They were always given a bit more attention than most of the rest of our kitchen tools: admired for their many uses, and cared for with thought. Once I moved out on my own, I knew that I needed to get my hands on such a skillet of my own. Well, Santa surprised me by placing this adorable six-inch skillet in my stocking this year!! Thanks, Mom and Dad 🙂 Immediately after opening it, I started brainstorming ideas for this delicious skillet brownie.
This little brownie is super simple to throw together, thanks to only a few ingredients and a shorter-than-normal cooking time. I actually took one of my very favorite recipes for classic brownies and reduced down the quantities to fit our baby skillet. So you know that the resulting product will be just as rich, fudgy, and chocolate-filled as any brownie you love. I suggest topping this treat with a big scoop of vanilla ice cream, and enjoying it straight out of the skillet, for a super romantic, fun, and delicious dessert. So grab a couple spoons and your boo, your best friend, or your dog… (wait, bad idea Hannah, dogs can’t eat chocolate)… and dig in!
